We can discern from the Gospels that Jesus, fully human, accepted the pleasures life offers. Denying the pleasures of life runs counter to his desire that we live abundantly. The pleasures-natural beauty, healthy human relationships, food, drink, and the greatest pleasure, love-provide the framework for joy and fulfillment, for living what we call the good life. Jesus and the Pleasures shows us, in an accessible and engaging style, that Jesus is the guide who sets the foundation for that framework.
