The rationale behind this volume is that students of theology should not complete and introductory course without having been exposed to a variety of competing approaches and having gained some broad knowledge of the Christian tradition. There is a need for a text, which allows a course to engage appropriately with methodological questions through exposure to historical authors, and to the major competing claims made today. This reader meets that need.
